November News: Long awaited update for everyone!!!
What a great inaugural season! Thank you to all the players and families that participated with the Dodgers. We would not have been able to do it without you!
The Bytown Dodgers have been voted into the National Capital Ontario Baseball Association (NCOBA) for the 2018 season! For those of you that are unaware of what NCOBA is, it’s the governing body for the Ontario Baseball Association within the National Capital region. Our notional boundary at the moment is Orleans. but we will be providing a map of the boundaries once they are confirmed at the next NCOBA meeting in late November.
Does this mean that you can’t play for the Bytown Dodgers in 2018 if you don’t live in our boundary?
- You DO NOT have to live in our boundary to be allowed to play for our club moving forward and we will be happy to discuss any particular situations in order to help facilitate this moving forward.
We are planning on hosting our tryouts for the 2018 spring and summer season during the month of January. Right now they are slated for mid-to-late January to allow the kids to get readjusted to their second semester of school. We are working on our winter/spring training schedule as we speak!
As for the club itself, the Bytown Dodgers Baseball Club will be having an Annual General Meeting (AGM) in February of 2018. Topics for the AGM, as well as location, are to be announced in our December update.
We are very excited about our upcoming season and look forward to seeing you all in the New Year!
Go Dodgers!!!
